How to do it
- Lie on your back with arms straight up and knees bent over your hips.
- Press your lower back gently toward the floor.
- Lower your right arm overhead and left leg toward the floor at the same time.
- Return and switch sides, moving slowly.
Common mistakes
- Arching your back. Reduce the range until you can keep it flat.
- Moving too fast. Take at least three seconds per rep.
- Holding your breath. Exhale as you reach.
Make it easier or harder
Easier: Move only the legs, or only the arms.
Harder: Hold a light dumbbell in each hand.
Coaching tip
The goal is control, not speed. The slower it feels, the better it works.
